Winter 2014

Winter 2014 has been a very busy and very exciting time for me.  In a few short months, I have had the opportunity to not only work on some amazing productions, but to join the audience for several groundbreaking performances in the Raleigh area.  On the design front, in January I designed props for the World Premiere of The Jesus Fund by playwright Terry Milner at Burning Coal Theatre Company.  In February, I had the opportunity to design scenery and props for Albert Herring, an opera by Benjamin Britten, performed by the music department at Meredith College (aka my alma mater).  Also at Burning Coal, I am designing props for Civil Rights Through Song: A Choral History of Raleigh Through the Civil Rights Era.  This play, written by Ian Finley, in partnership with the Raleigh Boys Choir, will open in March.  And finally, and most anticipated, I am designing scenery for The Diary of Anne Frank at Burning Coal Theatre.  As the website states, “One of the most monumental works of art ever created comes alive in a breathtaking new staging.”  I hope my design lives up to such high expectations.  Check back in April for the unveiling of my design. 🙂
